Find inspiration for a small form factor build with these six PCs featuring ASUS Prime components

Full-tower desktop PCs have their advantages. They give you plenty of space for expansion, lots of room for airflow and high-end cooling, and easy compatibility with just about any components on the market. But small form factor (SFF) PCs have their advantages, too. They take up less desk space. They fit in places that larger builds usually won’t, like entertainment centers. A small form factor build is much easier to move, too, making your life easier when you reorganize your home office, move to a new place, or head out to a LAN party.

Until recently, the challenge with SFF builds was parts compatibility. Every time you added a new component to your shopping cart, you’d have to double check that you’d have room to install it. But now, the process is much simpler. NVIDIA’s new SFF Ready program identifies graphics cards that are compact enough for a small form factor build, and it also points you to space-saving PC cases that offer sufficient space to install any SFF Ready GPU. Picking these two critical components is as simple as finding two that are marked SFF Ready.

ASUS Prime PC components give you plenty of options. The new Prime GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER and Prime GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards deliver potent performance for gaming and content creation alike, and each is compact enough to be labeled SFF Ready.  With Prime AP201 and Prime AP201 Tempered Glass PC cases, you have microATX chassis options that keep a small footprint while being easy to build with and offering plentiful airflow. And with Prime motherboards, Prime power supplies, and Prime AIO coolers, it’s easy to finish your build with components that are a perfect stylistic match.

Six professionals show the way

Now that assembling a small form factor build is easier than ever, you might be laying plans for your own space-saving PC. To give you some fresh ideas, we challenged six professional builders to construct a small form factor build using a Prime GPU and a prime PSU.

First up is Robeytech, who gives step-by-step guidance on a PC build featuring the ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 4070 Super and an Intel Core i7-14700KF CPU.

UFD Tech chipped in with a very detailed livestream of building a PC with the ASUS Prime AP201 chassis.

Mr Matt Lee constructed a fine-looking PC with ASUS Prime components — and includes a dramatic airflow visualization in his video to showcase the cooling potential of this compact PC.

Designs By IFR put together a super-clean “4K Destroyer” build with ASUS Prime components, and then put it through its paces in a variety of games at 4K to showcase what it can do.

Finally, ITRaidDE constructed an absolutely polished PC that serves up tasteful good looks and premium gaming performance in a compact design.

SFF Ready GeForce Enthusiast graphics cards from Prime

The Prime GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER and Prime GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards are lean and slim, but we take advantage of every inch to create an effective cooling solution. Prime graphics cards wield three Axial-tech fans with nine blades. A vented backplate optimized for airflow works in tandem with these dynamic fans to keep noise levels and temperatures under tight control. For silent operation under light loads, these graphics cards feature 0dB technology that allows the fans to completely stop spinning whenever temperatures permit. A physical Dual BIOS switch lets you choose between performance and quiet modes with a flick of your finger.

We go above and beyond to give you the confidence that your Prime graphics card will deliver the performance you need for years to come. Their highly durable dual ball fan bearings offer twice the lifespan of other options, and they’re equipped with long-life capacitors. Additionally, these cards were built with our Auto-Extreme Technology, which automates the manufacturing process so that all soldering can be completed in a single pass, reducing thermal strain and environmental impact for a product that will stand the test of time.

Lay a foundation with Prime power supplies

With their high efficiency rating, easy PC building features, and classic ASUS Prime style, the Prime 750W Gold and Prime 850W Gold power supplies are perfect partners for Prime graphics cards. These two power supplies offer full modularity and meet the ATX 3.0 standard.

An ASUS Prime graphics card and ASUS Prime PSU

The ASUS Prime Gold Series power supplies come loaded with all the features PC builders expect from a high-quality PSU. Both models are fully modular, allowing you to cut down on build clutter by only using the cables you need. As ATX 3.0 compatible power supplies, the ASUS Prime Gold Series units are fully compatible with NVIDIA GeForce™ RTX 40 Series graphics cards thanks to their native 16-pin 12VHPWR cable. On top of that, they’re backed by an 8-year warranty for peace of mind for many builds to come.

Ample space for a small form factor build

Standard ATX and monster EATX cases offer plentiful room for airflow and premium-sized components, but they demand more desktop real estate than many folks prefer. Smaller cases are readily available, but many of them place too many restrictions on the components you’re able to install. The ASUS Prime AP201 and Prime AP201 Tempered Glass cases offer the best of both worlds. As microATX cases, they keep a low profile on your desk, yet their industry-leading spatial efficiency makes sure that you have plenty of room for a wide range of internal hardware.

Prime AP201 cases offer plenty of room for SFF Ready graphics cards, and shopping for a power supply is easy. They support standard ATX PSUs up to 180mm long. The top panel supports large 360mm radiators, allowing you to get the high-end CPU cooling that you need.

Not only can the AP201 fit all this high-end gear into a compact 33L volume, it also provides ample room for cable management. A 32mm-wide compartment behind the power supply mounts gives you a comfortable space to route cables. Conveniently placed motherboard tray cutouts make it easy to tuck the cords and cables out of sight and create a clean aesthetic for your build.

Earn a chance to win a Prime graphics card

A small form factor build is more attainable than you might think. NVIDIA SFF Ready gives you confidence that your chassis and GPU are compatible, and ASUS Prime makes sure that you have components that offer excellent performance in compact designs.
