The latest AMD Ryzen CPUs are proven favorites among gamers. It’s easy to see why — slap one of these CPUs into an AM5 motherboard, pair it with a high-bandwidth DDR5 kit, a speedy M.2 SSD, and a next-gen graphics card, and you’ve got the makings of a gaming rig that won’t back down from any game on the market. Ready to get off the sidelines and into the action? We’re debuting two new TUF Gaming AM5 motherboards, freshly upgraded to meet the needs of today’s gamers. Meet the TUF Gaming X870-Pro WiFi7 W Neo and the TUF Gaming B850-Pro WiFi7 W Neo.
Stay frosty with an all-white aesthetic
The “W” in the names of these motherboards doesn’t just refer to wins you’ll be stacking up with these boards in your arsenal. Both feature a top-to-bottom white colorway that aligns perfectly with the white versions of cases like the TUF Gaming GT302 and TUF Gaming GT502 — not to mention an ASUS white graphics card.
White-themed components have a knack for capturing the glow of RGB LED illumination. With a white build, tweaking your rig’s lightshow with ASUS Aura Sync does more than adjust its hue. It changes the entire look and feel. Clean lines and balanced geometries across the landscape of these motherboards complement the aesthetic while letting their performance take center stage.
TUF Gaming ascends to new tiers of performance
Thanks to some key upgrades, the TUF Gaming X870-Pro WiFi7 W Neo is easily the highest-performance TUF Gaming board that we’re ever offered.
More than any other TUF Gaming board that came before, this board equips you to squeeze every last drop of performance out of your new processor. In a first for TUF Gaming, both the TUF Gaming X870-Pro WiFi7 W Neo and TUF Gaming B850-Pro WiFi7 W Neo now offer Asynchronous Clock. This feature allows you to isolate your CPU’s base clock (BCLK) from the clock signals controlling other components like memory and the Infinity Fabric, potentially allowing you to raise BCLK higher than you could otherwise. The TUF Gaming X870-Pro WiFi7 Neo pairs Asynchronous Clock with additional tools like Dynamic OC Switcher and Core Flex, giving you versatile, dominant control.
Both the TUF Gaming X870-Pro WiFi7 W Neo and TUF Gaming B850-Pro WiFi 7 W Neo are prepped and ready for hard-hitting memory performance, too. These boards’ eight-layer PCBs mean that you’ll enjoy quieter signal behavior and steadier performance under pressure. You’ll enjoy better compatibility with premium kits and a more stable experience when you test the waters of a higher overclock.
In another first for TUF Gaming, the TUF Gaming X870-Pro WiFi7 W Neo features NitroPath DRAM Technology. This rework of the layout of the traditional DRAM slot to improve signal quality, increasing DRAM overclocking performance by up to 400 MT/s depending on factors like memory speed, module, and system configuration.
The TUF Gaming X870-Pro WiFi7 Neo and TUF Gaming B850-Pro WiFi7 W Neo both offer another nicety that bolsters their value proposition for performance tweakers: a physical Clear CMOS button on the rear panel. If you get a bit too aggressive with your performance tuning, this button gives you an easy way to get back to the factory default settings in BIOS.
A streamlined building experience
Don’t let some cut-rate motherboard get between you and the PC gaming experiences you’re seeking. These two TUF Gaming boards go above and beyond to streamline every step of your build process.
Features like M.2 Q-Latch and M.2 Q-Release mean that you’ll spend less time lining up tiny screws and more time boosting your K/D ratio. Without even needing to pick up a screwdriver, you’ll be able to remove the beefy heatsink for your primary M.2 slot, pop in a drive, and secure the heatsink back in place. Need to remove your graphics card for maintenance or an upgrade? That’s easy, too, thanks to a physical PCIe Slot Q-Release lever that releases the card in your primary expansion slot with one press.

The process of optimizing your PC is getting easier, too. With the TUF Gaming X870-Pro WiFI7 W Neo and TUF Gaming B850-Pro WiFi7 W Neo, we’re debuting a new EZ Mode interface in our award-winning UEFI. It puts easy-to-read monitoring information and commonly used functions front-and-center. EZ Mode is now a one-stop interface for the UEFI functions used by the majority of our users. For easy first-time setup, we’ve also included Essential Mode. On this page, users will be able to view key system information and access the most commonly used overclocking functions, all without digging through menus that often require more expertise. The Advanced Mode remains for when you need more granular control over your system.
Here’s another upgrade that will be appreciated by newcomers and veterans alike: we’re doubling the ROM capacity of the latest ASUS AM5 motherboards from 32MB to 64MB. The extra storage space not only gives us the ability to provide out-of-the-box support for the latest AMD CPUs, but it also allows us to include pre-installed WiFi drivers for a more streamlined experience as you install your operating system. Future BIOS updates might require us to allocate more of this space for CPU support, limiting our ability to store the WiFi driver on-board. But we’ll include the driver as long as space permits.
Connect all the things
A rock-solid, low-latency pathway between you and online game servers relies on unhindered connections at every step of the journey. The TUF Gaming X870-Pro WiFi7 W Neo sets you up for success with a 5G Ethernet port and next-level WiFi 7 tech. This cutting-edge networking hardware ensures that you’ll be able to take full advantage of a modern gaming router. The TUF Gaming B850-Pro WiFi7 W Neo’s 2.5G Ethernet port doesn’t reach the same heights of bandwidth, but it’s still a great fit with mainstream networking hardware, and the board offers WiFi 7 support, too.
A modern PC battlestation can require plenty of USB ports. With its dual USB4 40Gbps ports and the header necessary to drive a front-panel USB Type-C port with 30W USB Power Delivery, the TUF Gaming X870-Pro WiFi7 W Neo is definitely your premium pick. But the TUF Gaming B850-Pro WiFi7 W Neo is no slouch in this department either, with a pair of USB 10Gbps Type-C ports on its rear panel. Both new TUF Gaming Neo boards put high-bandwidth USB connectivity within arm’s reach with support for a front-panel USB 20Gbps Type-C port, and their rear I/O panels are bristling with USB Type-A ports ready for all your gaming peripherals.
Far from fading into obscurity, the legacy USB 2.0 header is seeing a bit of a resurgence. These headers are getting used for far more than just connecting ports on older PC cases. They’re driving displays on AIO CPU liquid coolers, connecting fan controllers, and playing a supporting role with WiFi/Bluetooth add-in cards. To save you from the additional expense of an internal USB hub, we’re now offering 3 USB 2.0 headers on TUF Gaming Neo motherboards, an increase from the two that was common in last-gen options.
A quick comparison between the two options
As an X870 motherboard, the TUF Gaming X870-Pro WiFi7 W Neo sets the stage for a more premium gaming PC. Its more robust power solution has more power stages dedicated for Vcore, distributing the work for greater stability, lower operating temperatures, and better longevity. If you’re looking for the best motherboard for a CPU like the popular AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, look no further.

The versatility and premium bandwidth of its dual USB4 ports might make the difference for you, as well, if you regularly connect high-speed external storage. Two PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots let you double down on cutting-edge storage, and if you’re going all-in on a custom liquid cooling loop, you’ll appreciate the W_PUMP+ header.
