The ROG Crosshair X870E Hero propels the AMD Ryzen 9950X to 7.54GHz and five global first place records

Since its founding in 2006, the Republic of Gamers has empowered elite overclockers to break the outer limits that define PC performance. Through generation after generation of ROG motherboards, we’ve helped the world’s most skilled OCers reach the top of the leaderboards. Today, we’re proud to announce that overclockers have used the ROG Crosshair X870E Hero to launch the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPU to new heights, achieving five global first place benchmarks along the way.

Built to perform

The ROG Crosshair X870E Hero bears the fruit of years of technological innovation. It’s no surprise that it caught the attention of the world’s premiere overclockers.

Its record-breaking feature set starts with a muscular power solution. Raw power enters the board through dual 8-pin ProCool II power connectors. The solid pins in these connectors ensure a snug and reliable connection to the EPS 12V power lines, improved heat dissipation, and better reliability over standard hardware.

The massive VRM features 18+2+2 power stages. The 18 stages dedicated to Vcore are SPS units, each rated to handle up to 110 amps. Input and output filtering is provided by solid-polymer 10K black metallic capacitors selected for their ability to shrug off high operating temperatures. Each power stage is accompanied by a high-permeability MicroFine alloy choke rated to handle 45 amps.

The ROG Crosshair X870E Hero keeps its VRM operating comfortably under pressure with a cooling solution that’s built from end to end for excellent heat dissipation. High-conductivity thermal pads quickly transfer heat away from the power stages. By itself, the VRM heatsink is a beefy unit, but we increase its surface area even further by connecting it to the aluminum I/O cover via an embedded heatpipe.

A growing cabinet of trophies

Using the ROG Crosshair X870E Hero and an exotic cooling setup, famed overclocker Elmor was able to take the top-of-the-line AMD Ryzen 9 9950X to the stratosphere, achieving a CPU frequency of 7548.68MHz.

SAFEDISK put the powerhouse combo of the ROG Crosshair X870E Hero motherboard and AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPU to work on a variety of benchmarks, and walked away with five global first place records for their troubles. The jaw-dropping scores in Geekbench 3 Multi-Core and the HWBOT x265 Benchmark, in particular, showcase the multithreaded capabilities of this setup.
