Hi JJ,

Big fan of the live stream and loving the x99-m ws! Wrapping up my second build with one and have a 3rd lined up. We all love the value. I’m also looking forward to a z170 ws release.

I have a question, I wanted your opinion on running 2 noctua 140mm 1200rpm pwm redux fans on a single header on the x99-m ws, is that OK or will it confuse the fan profiles? Also wondering what amps each header can supply and max fans you would consider (1200rpm noctua redux 140mm pwm .96watt .08A)

The build will be in a thermaltake suppressor eatx case, there will be 2 140mm on top and 1 in the rear using phanteks ph-tc14pe. Since there will also be a stock DC 140mm side intake (relocated from case rear) and 200mm fan intake, I have even wondered if putting the 3 noctuas on one header would be acceptable.

Hi Guys/Girls,

Just a quick query, I’m looking at building my first system and have my eyes on the ASUS Z170 Deluxe MB. The one thing I can’t seem to find online is in reference to one particular AIO cooler, specifically the Fractal Kelvin S36.

I’ve read some reviews of the cooler, and noticed that on some MB’s there isn’t enough room between the socket and the first RAM slot to insert the cooling block in the “correct” orientation because of the interface between the tubing and the cooling block itself.

I was hoping someone from Asus or the PcDIY team might be able to clear this up for me or put me in touch with someone who can.

Finally thanks JJ and co. for all the information and resources you provide, getting into PC building has been a great experience this year and a fantastic way to de-stress after long days, and you all make it just that bit more accessible.

Hello J.J., First of all, I want to say that I’m really enjoying this channel and I find your videos very informative! I have a few questions regarding the upcoming release of the Asus Z170I Pro Gaming ITX motherboard: 1) When can I expect this motherboard to be released in Canada? I would assume some time in the near future? 2) I plan to use the Fractal Design Node 304 ITX case. This case allows for 3 case fans. The 2 front intake fans are 92 mm. I plan to swap out the stock fans and replace them with Noctua 92 mm PWM fans (NF-A9) which according to the Noctua website, have a maximum input power of 1.2 W. So, would it be safe if I used a PWM fan splitter and connected both 92 mm front intake fans to ONE motherboard case fan header? I believe the case fan headers allow for 12 W, so in theory, I assume this is fine? I will use the other case fan header for the rear 140 mm Noctua PWM exhaust fan. 3) In terms of CPU cooling, I want to use the Noctua NH-U12s. Will I have any ram compatibility issues? I plan on using 16 gb (2×8) of DDR4 ram. According to the Noctua website, this motherboard has no compatibility issues with this cooler, yet, I feel like taller ram might interfere with the fan on the cooler. Would it be safer to opt for low profile ram? 4) Finally, regarding the DIMM slots themselves. I was reading the Asus z170I pro gaming motherboard manual online and it states that you should use a 1.2V ram kit. However, the ram kits that I’ve found which are 1.2V only go up to 2666 mhz. I would love to use 3000 Mhz ram (through an XMP profile) but all of the kits are usually around 1.35V. Therefore, should I stick to 1.2V ram or can I get ram with a higher voltage? The board boasts over 3400 mhz (O.C.) ram so I’m assuming it can handle over 1.2V. Sorry for all of these questions but I’m a first time builder. Thanks again J.J! Best, Will

hi I’m thinking to buy MAXIMUS VIII GENE microATX with Two GPU 980 Ti but I’m not sure about the PCI Express slots sense they have one with x16 and the other x8? will the other GPU in x8 run slower?

Hello i brought the z170 deluxe. I just want to know what pci slot i would put intel 750 ssd in? I only have one graphics card so would i put it in the bottom/3rd pcie slot and set that to x4 or would i put it in the second slot(without effecting the x16 of the graphics card slot?)
