The fast and friendly Chromebook Flip C536 powers up Chrome OS with 11th Gen Intel Core CPUs

Many students and recent graduates grew up with Chrome OS devices. For them, Chromebooks have become synonymous with online education. More than that, though, Chromebooks are their go-to devices for chewing through YouTube playlists, creating and sharing creative projects with their friends, and playing mobile games. The Chromebook Flip C536 (also known as the Chromebook Flip CX5 in Canada) harnesses the power of an 11th Gen Intel Core processor to give these users the performance they demand for mobile gaming, school, and entertainment.

A study in contrasts

The Chromebook Flip C536 is so lightweight and slim that it’s no hassle to have it on hand throughout your day. The exterior surfaces are wrapped in a creamy Immersive White finish. The ceramic texture of the matte white aluminum gives it an unmistakable touch of luxury. Open it up, and the matte black keys and palm rests offer a striking contrast. The Obsidian Velvet texture of the finish here has a soft-touch feel that’s a delight to rest your hands on.

The C536 houses a 15.6” Full HD display. Despite the spacious screen, the overall footprint of the laptop remains compact hanks to narrow NanoEdge display bezels on three sides. This IPS panel is great for watching videos or collaborating on classwork with a friend, since the wide viewing angles make sure the image is bright and undistorted even when you’re not looking at the screen straight-on. The dual-speaker array, certified by Harman Kardon, will draw you into your favorite shows and games with satisfying volume and clarity.

When you’re kicking back on the couch with a show, it’s convenient to rotate the display into tablet mode and use its touchscreen to navigate. The 360° hinge lets you use the Chromebook Flip C536 in clamshell, tent, or tablet mode. The touchscreen makes it easy to use Play Store apps, many of which are designed first and foremost for a touch interface. Have a knack for digital art? Just pick up your own USI-compatible stylus and sketch out a quick idea, create freehand class projects, or turn a concept into stunning artwork.

Performance and convenience converge

Intel’s latest 11th Gen Core processors give the Chromebook Flip C536 swift and responsive power. Options range up to a Core i7 CPU equipped with Intel’s latest Iris Xe integrated graphics processor. These CPUs make everyday computing a breeze. Up to 16GB of RAM lets you multitask without a hitch, and there’s up to 512GB of SSD storage on hand to give you a large library of Google Play apps and files. To keep the C536’s trips to the charging cable infrequent, we equipped the laptop with a long-lasting 57Wh battery that’s good for up to 12 hours of work and play.

A range of key design features keep the Chromebook Flip C536 comfortable to use. It has a full-sized backlit keyboard with a numpad, a handy feature for when class or work projects task you with performing lots of quick calculations or entering in data. The keys have a generous 1.4mm of key travel for a responsive, tactile typing feel, and the wide 5.5” glass-covered touchpad is always in convenient reach of your fingertips.

There’s plentiful connectivity options on hand, too. The C536 supports Wi-Fi 6, the latest standard in wireless networking. Want to drive an external display? The HDMI 2.0 port can output a 4K resolution at 60Hz. A trio of USB ports—two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A—make it easy to connect your favorite peripherals. A microSD slot and an audio combo jack round out the C536’s options.
